The High Court takes serious the environmental issues

Taking issues of environment conservation, tree-felling and plantation rather seriously, the Jharkhand (India) High Court has decided to monitor these issues itself. A bench of Chief Justice Virendra Singh and Justice P.P. Bhatt declared it while a hearing.

A seminar on climate change was organised in the High Court auditorium in which a number of suggestions were made by scholars to repair the losses to environment. A review meeting of environmentalists is to be organised in January 2016 in which all the works done to repair the losses to environment are to be reviewed. The court on that basis may also issue some orders to concerned departments and or officers.

The High Court has suggested undertaking massive plantation work along the road borders that have already been broadened. The High Court has suggested for plantation along roadsides from Deogarh to Basukinath.
